A Big Month for Writers
March has been one of our most productive months yet. We've shipped features that our community has been requesting since launch, along with performance improvements that make the writing experience smoother than ever.
Here's what's new.
Multi-Paragraph Selection
You can now select multiple paragraphs and perform bulk operations on them. This was our most-requested feature, and we're thrilled to finally deliver it.
How It Works
- Shift+Click to select a range of paragraphs
- Cmd/Ctrl+Click to toggle individual paragraphs
- Bulk operations: copy, delete, rephrase, and AI edit
Why It Matters
Working with large documents just got dramatically easier. Instead of editing paragraphs one at a time, you can now select a section and apply changes in one action.
Full Undo/Redo
We've implemented a comprehensive undo/redo system with 500-operation memory.
- Cmd+Z to undo
- Cmd+Shift+Z to redo
- Debounced typing operations — so undoing doesn't go letter by letter
- Works across all editing operations, including AI actions
URL Import in Auto Mode
When creating content in Auto Mode, you can now import content from a URL as reference material. The AI can:
- Rewrite the content in your voice
- Expand on the source material
- Summarize key points
- Use it as a brief for original content
This is perfect for content curation, response pieces, and research-based writing.
Performance Improvements
Paragraph Virtualization
Documents with 50+ paragraphs now use virtualization, rendering only visible paragraphs. This means:
- Faster load times for long documents
- Smoother scrolling
- Lower memory usage
- No more lag on large projects
Lazy-Loaded Modals
We've lazy-loaded 11 heavy modals across the application. The editor now loads significantly faster, especially on slower connections.
React Query Caching
API calls are now cached intelligently. Switching between views no longer triggers unnecessary network requests.
Smaller Improvements
- Streamlined Auto Mode wizard (4 steps instead of 5)
- Enhanced progress tracking during document generation
- Compact paragraph toolbar with integrated drag handle
- Better visual feedback for selected paragraphs
- Improved error messages across the platform
What's Next
We're working on some exciting features for April:
- Real-time collaboration — Write with your team simultaneously
- Version history — Compare and restore previous versions of your document
- Custom AI models — Fine-tune AI behavior for your specific use case
Stay tuned, and as always, we'd love to hear your feedback.
